Introducing our newest tour: Nueva York: A Latin American Perspective
Smithsonian Student Travel proudly introduces a new tour that celebrates the diversity of New York City as well as the influence of Latin American and Caribbean culture on the American way of life. As of this fall, teachers and students can now choose to venture on our four- or five-day tour, Nueva York: A Latin American Perspective.
While ideal for Spanish classes and Latin American studies, our new tour also offers social studies teachers a new way to highlight the American immigration experience. Our four-day tour chronicles the history of Latin Americans in New York and how their art, heritage and language continue to affect and enhance U.S. culture to this day. Tour the neighborhood of Spanish Harlem, attend a Latin dance workshop, visit the Hispanic Society of America and ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. In addition, our five-day tour includes a visit to Museo del Barrio, which represents the diversity of art and culture in the Caribbean and Latin America.
