Educational materials for your class trip

Discovery Deck

Our group leaders receive an interactive Discovery Deck, a deck of questions cards to use with students to extend their learning while traveling and exploring Smithsonian museums and other popular destinations. The cards encourage students to think critically and include trivia challenges to work on together in groups.

Student Travel Journal

We provide every student with a special travel journal that they can personalize and keep as a souvenir of their class trip. Journals include fun and interesting writing prompts to provoke personal reflection, and students can use their journals to record their memories and save mementos such as ticket stubs, photos and contact information for new friends they meet.

Museum Clue Hunt

Use our Museum Clue Hunts to give your class a fun way to learn inside Smithsonian Museums. By asking students to complete each Museum Clue Hunt, you challenge them to find certain objects in each museum, study them and think critically about what they are observing. Students complete questions about each object, learning more about the objects and the museum in the process.

On-tour activities book

With the help of an educational consultant, we’ve created a variety of supplemental learning activities, designed around the particular needs of the 21st century traveler. Each activity in our activity book helps students connect their classroom lessons to their destination in a fun, hands-on way that focuses on the components of 21st century learning.
